I've seen various sources online recommending taking out the bolts, cleaning them, greasing and/or loctite-ing them up, and putting them back in. However, I haven't been able to find any good step-by-step how-to's.

Does anybody have a detailed description of this process for a newbie mechanic like myself?

Also - is this a potentially dangerous problem?
I second what NTHA stated. The seats have a known creaking problem. Spray some lube where the seat rails run into the front of the seat. If that's the problem call your bike shop. Specialized is apparently aware of the issue and is compensating the bike shops for replacements. My shop is letting me pay the $30 difference and get the model with titanium rails. Worth a shot.

I will swap my seat out tonight. My henge creaks bad, I have cleaned the rails twice.

It is always nice to have a spare so next time your shock leaks you don't have any down time...Swap it out and RIDE! Of course that's also why many of us have more than one bike

Had a short ride with the kids, the ride over roots uphill is much improved, way better traction. Over major split earth it is also better. I can't wait to do an adult ride to see how much better on descent and high speed through roots.

Have any of you ridden the camber evo on any downhill runs?? I'm thinking about trading out my camber comp for an evo in the fall and was wondering if I should just go for a stumpy or enduro instead.

No. A camber on a downhill run would be a slow run. Sounds like you would be best served with an enduro. Horses for courses.

As much as I like my Camber for pure fasr down hill runs I'd want a Stumpy.

    I have a 2013 Camber Comp.

There is some play between my Monarch shock shaft and the u-shaped bracket that mounts directly to it. Not a lot, but there is some relative movement between the two. Can anybody tell me if this is normal or not?

I would think this connection should be perfectly tight.

See if the yoke has a method to tighten it. Compare against a new bike if you can.

Yeah that would be ideal... I was wondering if anyone here had a camber in working order whose yoke they could describe.

I can't access the bolt to tighten the connection without taking apart the rear triangle. I don't trust myself with such major surgery.

Maybe if you just pulled out the front shock bolt you would have better access to the yoke.

The bolt for the yoke is in the middle of the fork. Mine loosened up a bit about 3 months after I got the bike... I could feel the play coming from some where in my bike, but couldn't find it. It felt weird like a loose headset, but that was definitely not it. You can access the bolt well enough to tighten it by deflating your shock completely. The rear end will collapse and you will have enough space for a hex wrench. This is EXACTLY how mine was fixed at the shop... I felt rather silly for bringing it in for a simple fix, but I couldn't find the loose part.

    Fat guys need bikes too.

Mine loosened once too taking the linkage bolts allows it to move into a position you can fix it.

Look what I brought home today

2014 Camber Carbon EVO baby! It is bad to the bone. Quickly got it home and took it out for a quick hit on the trail. It is night and day different over my 2012 Camber. I am super excited for it!

Yep, felt the same way. They made a lot of developmental progress between 2012 and 2013. I just went with the Comp Carbon model though, sometimes I wish I would have saved up for the Evo. Sweet bike.
