    is this normal???

    i have this same bike...and was wondering, is it normal for the seal on the rear shock to sit like this and what purpose does it serve in doing so....thanx for any insight.

    what seal are you talking about? If it's the o-ring that is normal and is used for setting the sag and also as a travel indicator.

    i think you've mistaken an o-ring for a seal.
    the o-ring is there to determine travel used on the shock. ie- to set sag and determine if you're getting full travel from the suspension.

    I don't wanna be the jerk, but what kind of bike shop sells you a 1500$ full suspension bike and doesn't even tell you what sag is, let alone the oring. I hope they measured your sag and/or pumped the shock to the ideal weight?
