need a seatpost for my rockhopper SL 29er

    its a 2010.

the seat post I have now sits the seat back. After riding some single track hills today (mcgill trail in socal) I want it forward. I have had it all the way forward for 2 months now and its not enough. So what do I get?

    saw this on nashbar:

    Thomson Elite Mountain Seatpost

it puts the seat on top of the post, where I want mine. Is it ok?

    Thanks, Im a total noob,

Thomson make a great seat post. Light and very strong. One of my favourite upgrades for my Stumpy.

so i went to buy it at nashbar and there are two size options, are these length?
    24.2mm or 31.6mm

this is the description for my seatpost from the spech site:
Alloy two bolt, 12.5mm offset, micro adjust, 30.9mm

    thanks again from a noob!

The dimensions you are referring to are tube diameter. You need a 30.9 to fit the seatpost tube on your bike.

You have some choices for length as well - ranging from about 280 mm to 400 mm. Get a longer post if you are not sure what length you need, it can always be cut down.

The stem also comes with a cloth bag. Think of it like a bottle of crown royal.
