Need help, E160ta to Fox Float 36

So upgrading my fork on my 2010 S-Works Enduro. Has the original Cane Creek integrated headset.

Shop I bought the fork from provided me with a crown race that they said was the right one for the frame and headset. After getting the E160 off and putting the Fox on I notice the race doesn't even come close to the lower bearing, which is pretty deep. The crown of the fork was actually turning on the head tube not the bearing.

Brought the old fork to a local shop to pull the old race off but that was a no go.

So now I have a beautiful new fork sitting in a box and I need to change that.

Should I try and find a race that works or try a different lower set?

I will try to get a picture of the race later.

    Thanks in advance.
