Is my new rear shock ok?

May seem obvious for others, but my rear shock on my new epic s-works wc will not fully compress when its empty for air. There are just a bit remaining. Is something wrong with it?

I don't know what kind of shock those come with but shocks usually have internal bump-stops to slow down the shock on big hits at the end of their stroke. If you take a big hit, the bump stop will fully compress, and then you will have used up the full stroke.
