Revelation not Pike, also yes 130mm. Not a fan of the bash guard so I'm glad.

Nothing wrong with using that gear on a 2x10...its made for it. Take the reflectors off though for the love of God man!

I thought one benefit of 2 x 10 was supposed to be any gear combo works just fine?

Are the specs better on the 2014's than the 2013's. I can't find much info on the 14's. just wondering if I should wait for the new model or just stick with the 13. Is the new fork better than the fox on the 13?

Specs are about the same as far as the geo. I don't dare to say that the 2014 is specs are better than the 2013 maybe the 2014 is just more refined.

2014 info should be available at your local dealer with the catalogue or on the 'dealer specialized site'. Or a simple web search for "2014 stumpjumper fsr.... Try this:

I debated your same issues buying a 2013 or 14. Think of it like this 2014 will resell quicker. So that's one reason I bought 2014; you should be able to get at least 10% off a 2013.

The Formula C-1 brakes are flawless by the way.

I've never had a Fox shock before so I can't compare. In test ridding both I noticed the Rock Shox was a little softer on the small bump vs the Fox.

As much as I have been ridding I have no regrets, absolutely the funnest bike I've ever owned.

Brakes alone might be reason enough to go with the 2014.

Exactly! I didn't want to deal with Avid brakes. All I've heard is horror stories about them. +$220 per axle to get XT's?! And try to sell the Avids, not my idea of new bike fun.

Got my XTs for $95/end shipped. Got Jenson to price match. Search around. The deals are there. There is a running XT brake thread on the Brake forum that points to the best deal. Find it, and price match to your dealer of choice.

I'm probably going to go with the 2013, I can get it for 2500 otd. The lbs said they are not sure when there getting 14's, probably September. And they won't deal on those for awhile.i don't race I'm sure the brakes will be ok for me for a bit. I appreciate all the good info from you guys. I'm just stoked my wife's even letting me get a SJ!

I been waiting for 2014 but could not pass on the great deal on 2013 Stumpy Carbon Comp. Got it for $2800. My LBS told me I will have to wait until October to get 2014.
the whole 2014 line went to Rock Shock, I am more of the fox fan, so it was no brainier.

Man, I've been x-chaining ever since I first owned a multi-gear bike. Never bothered me nor my equipment. Maybe we should stop popping wheelies because its too hard on the rear wheel assembly...

To the OP, sweet bike. I've got a 2013 Stumpy 29 FSR Elite, and it is a great bike, but after getting a 2014 Enduro 29 Comp in all black, I'm gonna get rid of the 32 Fox on the stump and put a 140 Pike on it. 130 is ok, but I like as much suspension as the geo can take, and stiff forks.
