Agreed. Even if selling complete bikes isn't a viable option, surely they could sell frame-only? Saying that, mines still going strong so I guess the target market don't need to replace them very often. It's their own fault for building them so well.

Sick bike, If I would get one I would buy the frame only like what you did. The coloring is sweet.

How does it ride with the fox 40?

Peter - nice build. I have mine on order, any issues with R leg heel scrape on the drive side rear chain/seat stays?? I notice you have wrapped inner tube on that side above the chainstay too. I have heard it may be an issue, I only wear a size 9 shoe though, so who knows??

That is a really good looking bike Peter! I love the Kachima coating on the fork. Only that is a reason to bye a new bike.
Your riding spot also looks sweet. Here we still have some snow

How are you liking the bike so far? I will not have a chance to get out on mine for a while, last weekend we got another 10 inches of snow. I am not sure my build is going to come close to your weight but it should sit right around 35/36lbs.

i put a specialized dropper post on, routed it down and uner the bb and along the bottom of the down tube like the other cables. it works perfectly. so stoked with this bike. i am going to get a 410mm thompson and possibly the 70mm thompson stem for it.

Why do you change the fork from fox 40 to fox 36 ?

Fox 40 definetely is better looking, right ?

Peter-great views on that trail, I take it it is near San Diego? Specialized has pushed back new SX 2's till early/mid April, can't wait, experiencing any heel scrapes near R rear chain stays????

If you find one, Specialized would be most interested to hear about it. They don't sell online.

Anyone can tell me the correct headset sizing for the 2011 Sx Trail?
I need the internal diameters to be able to determine which headset cups are correct.

    Thanks in advance!

Im riding a 2011 sx trail 1. It has a 1 1/8" top headset cup and 1.5" lower cup. I use a tapered fork.
