    As far as components for the conversion, with this frame all that is needed are the wheels. I used the Mavic Crossmax SLR rims with (I think) Mavic Crossroc Roam 2.2 tires. There is a few millimeters of gap between tires and frame all around.

    Other components I went with include: XX1 cf crank with Qring and xtr spds, XT drivetrain with XT brakes. And some other cf bits thrown in.

    I'm assuning this was a 26r when it started out - is that correct? and as per Protyne - what fork you using?

    Yes the bike began as a 26er. It has the factory s140ta specialized fox fork and the factory future shock brain, which I hope to replace shortly.

    Cool to know the conversion works. How about with other tires? How does it ride?

    How clearance is there on the S140TA fork?

    Also what are they worth? i may be able to get my hands on one

    With 650B conversions, when bottoming out, there is a danger of the front wheel blocking, possibly resulting in going OTB/crash/injury.

    Have you checked the clearance when using the full suspension?

    Sounds like a BAD accident waiting to happen !!
    Cool looking bike though .
    Every time i walk into the LBS and see the price tags on new bikes it makes me enjoy and appreciate my Ol' ride even more.
