    ... and if we just ... Looking at possibly purchasing a new Epic

    Okay so here's the deal;

    Our bike team just signed a sweet deal with Specialized and I might be in the the market for a new bike (okay, an Epic). But I have a delima, I am a college student = low budget. I just bought a Rockhopper this summer and have done quite a few upgrades to it. Since I'm on a low budget here are the options I was looking at:

    - S-Works Epic frame (and building it using my current setup)
    - Epic Marathon frame (and building it using my current setup)
    - *possibly* an Epic Expert Carbon
    - Epic Expert
    - Epic Comp

    Here's my current setup:
    Stock Tora fork
    XT shadow rear derailer
    Deore front derailer
    Mavic Crossride disc wheels
    Avid Juicy 5 disc brakes
    Deore shifters
    Ritchey Pro flat bar

    So with this information, which would you choose? I'm really leaning towards buying the S-Works frame so that way I would be able to upgrade as the $ comes along.
    - Just livin' the dream -

    I would go for the Epic Expert. That way you get all new shifters and components, better brakes and better fork. Keep in mind that if you get a complete bike you will be going from Shimano stuff to SRAM, which seems like an improvement to me.

    Also, with a new complete bike, you can then ride your old bike to class and not worry about your race bike getting messed with.
