LBS has hardrock SE....pull trigger or wait?

so my LBS has this bike

Specialized Hardrock SE - Specialized Zipp Zoot SRAM Speedplay

I am looking to upgrade from my 2008 Trek 820 that I am converting to SS. I have only starting MTN biking for about 6 weeks and am looking for something newer and a lil lighter. I am looking to spend at most $500 but came across this while looking online. Was browsing around and didnt see too many people with SE's so wasnt sure if there was a reason or not.

I believe the SE is a paired down Hardrock and may be difficult to upgrade. I don't believe it comes with disc tabs on the frame or fork, if you ever decide to move that route.

I can't remember, but it may not have a freehub either.

Look at Airborne or BikesDirect if thats your budget.

I'd also suggest going with the disc model for future upgrades.

The 2013 HR Disc 26 goes for MSRP $520
