I have a stumpjumper expert fsr 29er from 2010 -what am i missing with the new models

Hi all, just curious if much has changed. Looking at geometry I don't think much has changed at all. surprisingly I think my older model has shorter stays and wheelbase my a few mm. I have the reba up front and the brain in the back. So curious if an upgrade is even worth it

i would say not worth it. Given industry trends, Specialized is probably going to shorten the stays a bit on the next redesigned 29 SJFSR, which will be 2015 given their past history. Maybe not as short as the 430mm Enduro, but who knows?

Venturing a guess, 27.5 will replace any remaining 26ers and be ~150mm and their 'EVO' lineup, while the 29ers will remain about the same with ~130mm, but potentially shorter chainstays at ~430-440mm. Just a guess of course.

so for now, I suggest upgrade to a baller wheelset and/or 1x11
