New question here. I found a nice 2004 Big Hit but have some questions

Hey y'alls, I found a guy that wants to sell me his Big Hit for $700, which is a great deal but also a big chunk of change for me (I'm 16 with parents that aren't very generous) so I wanted to know if there is anything I should watch out for that might indicate future issues. Mainly because I don't want to buy it and then have it break the next week when I clear a stair set. So, if you guys could give me a hand, that would be great.

That's the bike. I did notice that he bumped the front shock up to 6" but left the rear shock at 5", would that be an issue or is that what the bike was built for? My friend is telling me to examine the headtube super closely to look for cracking, so I figured I'd go for a second opinion.

So, any advice you can give me would be great. Thanks.

If you are going to be freeriding try to find a Big Hit not the Big Hit Spec . I sold my 2005 bighit for $800 and have seen many for that price.

That bike is way overpriced and is not worth what they are asking for. Keep your eye out for a better deal. They are definetly out ther but you have to be patient. the last thing you want to do is spend this kind of cash just to find out that this bike sucks.

Everything on the bike sucks as well. I sold a kick ass bighit for about a 1000 dollars.

So my advice if your going to get a big hit get the regular big hit and stay away from the bighit spec.
