I have about 1500 miles on my 12 fsr comp 29er now. It weights in right at 30 pounds with my clipless pedals and tubless tires. All stock. I go about 100 miles a week.
What is the best way to loose some weight on the bike? I am considering spending some money and either going to build up a hardtail for my long XC rides, or try to lighten this bike.
I am now doing some 30-50 miles xc rides and also doing some xc "events" Not racing yet, but just trying to get better and better. I weigh in at 200 lbs. I have lost 15 so far this summer. So I figure i can't go too light on the rims etc....
I find that for the most part when I am not singletrack riding and on the XC courses, I have the bike completely locked out, front and back. Should i save my money and start a hardtail search? I will never get rid of this bike though, it is a joy to ride.
