    Headset with Epic S-Works 08 frame ?

    Hi,

    The Specialized website says....

"1 1/8" threadless, Campy spec integrated sealed cartridge bearing"

but I got a Cane Creek headset in the box with the frame ?

Anyway, anyone know what model of Cane Creek headset this might be? It came in a small unmarked cardboard box, so I'd like to download the right manual from the Cane Creek website ?

    Thanks,

    Some info

Cane Creek does not actually manufacturer the headset, the design is licensed to a Taiwanese company who in turns supplies Specialized. The kit appears to be of good quality. It has been a few months since I contacted Cane Creek but if memory serves me well I was steered to this manual:

    http://www.canecreek.com/images/stor...12-16-2004.pdf

Read it carefully if you have not installed an IS headset before. The new one for me was the gap between the bearing cover and top of the head tube; no gap and the headset will not turn. If this happens, a spacer will be necessary. From the pdf:

“Ensure that the gap between the upper bearing cover and the top of the head tube is at least 0.5mm after preloading. “

One other link which is good to have:

Other then this, setting up the rest is very similar to a traditional headset except you need no special equipment to press the bearings in.

    Hope this helps.
