Have Specialized MBs become the most popular?

    Hi,

I never knew much about Specialized bikes until I found this forum. I'm surprised that based on viewers/brand, Specialized always has the most viewers. I find it surprising since Specialized MBs seem to be more expensive that the Big 2 (Trek and Giant). What makes Specialized different than the others? I'm now considering a Specialized FS trail bike. A LBS is an authorized dealer.

    Thanks

I think they (Specialized) have understood their costomers and made a great product at a reasonable price for a LONG time, and because of that, have created a great following of dedicated customers. I was a Cannondale guy, now have a Santa Cruz, but when I got my kid his first bike, I immediately focused on Specialized, and found that they really have the best kids bikes at reasonable cost (24" Hot Rock). Now, I'm looking at them for my other kid (Myka XS 26"), and my wife (Myka Disc of some level). I could get better, or cheaper, than the bikes I will likely get for them, but I think Specialized does a great job of knowing their customers and providing them what they need/want at the price that is reasonable (by no means, the low-cost-leader, but at the level of "you get what you pay for" where you feel good). Simply, they have great high end, mid-range, and entry level offerings, and tons of great LBSs to take care of you.
