Just getting around to looking at new cranks for the Fatboy. Very familiar with traditional spacing on MTB's but seems the Fatbike world is all over the place on spacing, etc. Can either the Turbine or Next SL cranks work? I also read it must be the cinch style crank? It looks like I need the 170/30 RF crank (Turbine preferred if possible due to cost), PF30 BB and maybe a spacer kit? any help is appreciated as it get expensive quick!

I actually ended up keeping the 190 RF Next cranks because I'm a big guy and the Q-factor doesn't bother me, plus I like having the 36T ring and may go back to a 2 x 10 when I upgrade to XTR Di2 in February.

That said, to answer your question, my cranks came with the spacer kit and are only needed with 190 cranks so you won't need it. Not sure if you "need" the cinch system but it's certainly not a bad system as you can swap parts out quickly.

I'm planning to order the 170 Cinch cranks. If you flip the chainring you'll have enough clearance for the tires while keeping the narrowest q factor possible. (Confirmed by RaceFace).

I have no idea what CarbonLord means by "the hard way".

It means I bought 190's, extra spacers, a sleeve that didn't fit and could have just gone 170's to begin with.
