Stock 09 FSR XC Comp. Platforms are for my wife. Nice bike but I wish I had the cash to upgrade forks, shock and tires. Does great on downhills but uphill it feels heavy. Still a lot of fun to ride.

I have an X-Fusion 02- RC but I have a Fox RP23 on my other bike that I would like to have on the XC. The Fusion does a good job but once you have Propedal your spoiled!! I see you have one too.

The tough thing is the shock size which is impossible to find. 7.5 x 1.75....

I read in the specialized forum somewhere that Fox can shim it to fit 7.5 x 1.75 stroke bikes. But I'm sure it will cost ya a little extra $$$. I think I'll just replace the fork first and wait till the shock blows to change it out. I was dropping off 2 footers to flat landings on pavement today and it was doing fine. I know it was at least 2 ft because I checked the drop against my front tire.

Thanks. It is. Just got it last week. I have already been out riding it as much as possible. Was hard at first getting over being sick, but I still had a blast. I am very happy with how it handles. Still have some tweaking to do with the suspension, but I am real close to getting it how I want it.

My new Safire- it's an 08 that my LBS ordered from Spec on clearance. Size small; I guess not many small women wanted to spend 7grand on a bike, but I was willing at $3500 (and yea, I'm a small woman). Picked it up today and swapped out grips for my fave ODI Ruffians and put an Escar 2.3 up front. Also the ancient Time pedals (I had those on a proflex in the 90s). Spent today setting up the suspension and the plan is to get it dirty tomorrow.

That's a killer deal on a great looking bike. It's nice to see a woman's post on the forum, we don't see too many. Enjoy the new bike.
