    First upgrade SJ 120

I'd like to up grade some parts my '05 SJ 120. I ride xc, weigh 220 lbs. I like to do small drops 2-3 feet. I'm looking to lighten up the bike some. What upgrades would you recommend considering my weight.

    XT cranks w/ external BB

a good wheelset (i ride Mavic CrossMax XL and i am 205lbs) can lighten the ride.

the stock tires are good and if you do drops and stuff you don't want to go much smaller than them, i ride 2.4" tires which are heavier.

    Hey Pinga,

in addition to the previous post, I'd recommend a carbon bar & Thomson post. My new seatpost was way lighter than my cut down old stock'er. I'm doing similar riding to you sounds like, and both are holding up great.

My 1st upgrade to my 120 Pro was Crank Bros Eggbeaters -- nice 'n light.

    on my SJ pro

    I changed:

Fork - replaced the minute with a Talas RLC (it rocks!)
Brakes and shifters - returned the shimano integrated pieces of garbage and got xt rapid fire and juicy 7's. Also put a 7" rotor up front.
