Hello ppl,
would you post your measurements (height and inseam), frame size and your comments?
Since most of us have to order their Enduro SL without testing it first (even seeing it),it would be very helpful knowing which frame size matches body height.
I am 5' 8". My inseam, measured using the "slam a book up my crotch" method, is between 31" and 32" (depends upon how hard I push up on that book). I am riding a medium Enduro SL, and the size feels about right to me.
There are moments when I find myself wishing the handlebar on the SL was just a tad higher relative to the seat. I'm still getting used to the bike though.
I would love to have been able to test ride a small and a large, but me dealer had only the one medium in stock. The only way I can ever be sure that I've zeroed in on the right size for me is to test one size up and one size down to be sure that they both feel worse. Rarely (never?) do I get that luxury. I hate having to decide after trying only one size.
FWIW, I also have a 17-inch Rockhopper that feels perfect to me. It is currently my personal gold-standard of how I want a bike to fit. I've a 16-inch Expedition SE from back before the weird frame style in use today, and that bike feels a bit too short in the top tube. I've an 18-inch Crosstrail bought this year that feels just a tad too long in the cockpit -- I'm actually ordering a shorter stem for that one. So for me, 17-inches, what Specialized calls a medium, seems to be the best starting point.
I'm 5-8 with a 30"inseam and rode a medium SL the other day. It seemed odd fitting to me - seemed small. I don't think i'd buy one before test riding it. Not being able to change to a different length stem (unless somehow you can do this?) seems kinda risky without having a good test ride.
sure a light bike though !
5'8" with a 30" inseam here (measured with the book method as well). Purchased a medium without trying it beforehand and it is working out pretty well.
For singletrack duty it is perfect but for drops (I am only doing tiny sub 3ft drops so far), I wish it was, in general, a tad smaller or at least a tad lower to the ground so that I can change her airborne attitude easier. Maybe it's just my lack of expertise in the air though... yeah probably that.
Standover clearance (with full travel on the E150 and slack rear shock setting) is as good as with my medium Heckler.
Have considered going to a single crown fork to get that extra level of adjustability and bring the handlebars in some more but not sure yet. My knees get uncomfortably close to the handlebars as is when climbing extreme angles so not sure I want to tempt fate. Top tube doesn't feel anywhere near as long as on my 04 Epic.
I'm 6'3" with a 34" inseam and I just got an XL size frame. It fits me quite well. I have an old Stumpjumper FSR in XL also, and that one seems to have a more stretched out wheelbase compared to the Enduro SL. I prefer the more compact cockpit of the Enduro.
I demo'd a Medium SL and it felt perfect, if a little twitchy in the steering. Then I went out again later (same day) on another medium SL and it felt perfect - no twitchyness at all.
Anyway, I figured at my height, I'd ride a small, but the medium felt really good.
Oh, that second medium I rode had the longer stem... But it felt awesome. Weird though, because I'm pretty short... and I loved the medium with a long stem (?).
Am I just fooling myself? would a small frame be better for my height? I may demo a small frame later.
I'm 6ft1 with 32' seam and bought the large which feels great. Did a quick ride on a medium and the large. I normally err on the smaller is better side but the large for my height is bang on the money!
