Enduro 29 upgrade - Fatty C vs Ibis 941
Looking to upgrade the wheels on an Enduro 29 from stock Rovals.
Should I go for the Spesh Traverse Fatty SL (carbon) or Ibis' 941.
The 941 are 5mm wider but I wonder if this is too much and may actually limit tyre choice?
Any feedback on both for trail and all mountain riding. The Fatties will be GBP 150 more but are 200g lighter.
Thanks,

I'd personally go with the Ibis 942 wheelset. The Ibis 941/942's should be a stiffer wheelset. The Specialized Traverse Fattie SL's are a little flexier, which is not always a bad thing.

Ibis all day long. I'm a Specialized Dealer and until they beef up the stiffness of the Roval Mountain wheels I'll steer people away. Don't worry about the tire selection when using a wide rim, the extra traction gained with any tire eliminates the need to change tires all the time.

Interesting, I ride the mountains of Colorado/Utah with carbon roval 29's (30mm ID) and ride/race enduro at a pretty competitive level and don't notice any more flex then my 32h derbys (I busted). From what I understand Ibis rims are derbys. The extra price difference isn't worth the cool sound of I9 hubs to me, especially when i can get the rovals for $1200. 6' drops, bike park 20-30' doubles, etc. they definitely need a tensioning after a couple days when new but they feel plenty stiff!
