Enduro 29 really better than 26?

So I have been set on buying the Enduro 29er as my next trail bike. I love the idea of a faster rolling AM bike. Of course I went to the LBS over the weekend and 2013's are sold out and the 2014's won't be available til September. I'm coming off a SC Heckler and ultimately I'm looking for a faster bike uphill and downhill that will last me the next 5 years. I could get the 26er Enduro at the LBS right now or should I wait to get the 29er? Is the 29er that much better to wait for? Don't know what to do!!

I have a buddy who just went from a 26" s-works enduro to a 29" s-works enduro. Both are great bikes, but the 29er fits his style better. He loves long climbs and long rough descents, but isn't big on jumping or hitting big drops. He tends to skip jumps on the trail and prefers rocks and roots over air time. The 29er fits the bill prefect. it allows him to hammer away and bomb thru stuff much faster than he ever did on the 26".

I personal ride the opposite and i seem out the jumps, drops and Im always looking to "play" on the trail. A 26" fits my style much better. I an probably a little faster on the 29er, but i have more fun on the 26.

Yeah, that's what I assumed and was afraid of! My riding is a lot of chunky technical rocky steep stuff with few jumps and drops.

Steep rocky tech is easier for me on the 29er and drops and jumps are fun, just not as playful as a 26.

Mr. Lynch, do you know how the sizes compare between the two bikes? I can try different size 26ers but finding a 29er to ride is tough. Are they comparable or is the 29er bigger?

For me I found they fit nearly the same. I ride a medium in both.

    5'10", 31" inseam.

I'm right between a medium and large for the SJ, but all 3 medium Enduros fit nice (26, 29, Evo).
