Does the BETD link fit the 04 FSR XC or not?

I've seen posts here to indicate that it does not, others saying that in the US the 04 frame is the same as the UK 03 frame. I did email them and Dan over there said it would fit, though didn't specify any details as to which to use.

I'm in the beginning stages of repainting (little did I know pulling bearings would be such a *****. So I figured I would update the linkage while I'm at it.

Dan over there confirmed that for the US 04 the correct link is the 01-03 model. So I'll be picking that up. Dan also said that I would have to up my shock pressure by 10-30 psi which should be ok. But I'm already running ~230 psi on a Float RL so I'm a little afraid of pushing the upper limits of the air pressure limits. Would a longer shock or different shock help?

I'm in exactly the same position - looking to replace bearings on the rear end and possibly upgrade. To achieve the longer travel the BETD link provides, can I use the stock shock? OEM travel is 90mm/75mm for bike using the stock Fox Float R.

Yes you can use the stock shock, however your air pressure will need to go up because of the change in leverage ratio. I ended up no using mine because of that reason. If you are interested in the BETD link I have my nearly unused, mounted and discovered I couldn't get anywhere near the level of sag I needed @ 260lbs of body weight. But it was a VERY tight fit on to the seat stay portion of the rear triangle. PM me if you are interested.
