    Different epic 2009

    Epic in 2009 from Indonesia must be different, Frame Marathon 2009, size M, Complete Expert Component 2009. Please input about what should I up grade

    Looks like a nice bike. Only upgrade worth doing right now IMO are pedals - either clipless, or platforms. The straps you have now are scary .

    One change that it looks like you need to make is to pull some more cable through the guides so that you have a longer loop beneath the bottom bracket. When the suspension compresses the cables will pull tight against the bottom bracket shell if the loop is too short.

    The best way to test is to let all the air out of your rear shock and compress the rear suspension fully. The cables shouldn't pull completely tight when the suspension is fully compressed.

    The picture below shows the length of the cable loop that runs beneath the bottom bracket on my 2009 Epic.

    Another thing to do whilst the bike is new would be to take the warning stickers off whilst they still come off easily. The green and red ones on the top tube and the large white sticker by the bottom bracket.
