Right at 20 lbs with pedals. Chain ring is 32T from Wolf Tooth Components. Doesn't require any chain guide.

Left is my 2008 Stumpy Expert. Apparently the bike is a demo model as to that blue color wasn't available on factory stumpys in 2008. Friends bike is a 2013 Hardrock.

Posted this in the Rockhopper thread, figured I'd whore it around a bit more...

Moved to the UK toward the end of 2011, was in VERY unhealthy condition and couldn't even walk very far without sweating and needing to catch my breath. For a 31 year old male, being 245 pounds and severely out of shape is NOT an ideal scenario for living in England when walking is a primary mode of transportation. To get into shape, I decided to go on the lookout for a bike and it started me down a GREAT path...

Bought a frame from a mate for 50 quid, he had rescued it from a tip and it was beat to ****. My first Specialized and my first decent mountain bike, so it holds a bit of a sentimental spot and I'll probably never get rid the frame, even after I ride it into the dirt.

Started it's life as a 2009 Rockhopper Comp and there was no way I was going to let it stay in that beat up condition. First on the agenda was stripping it down with nitro-mors, then cutting off the under BB cable routing stays as I can't stand under BB cable setups for rerouting. Sprayed it out back and it turned out decent. When I was done in June 2012, the first custom incarnation looked like this...

Size: 126.7 KB

So I rode it in this configuration for about 10 months before it started looking beat up again. Riding through winter in the UK is a death sentence for a cheap spray can paint job...

About a month ago, I decided to have it powder coated, switch it from a 3x9 to 1x10 setup, change out the Recon Silver coils for a set of Reba RLT Duals and get a set of decent wheels... The transformation went like this...

Taped up and ready for some custom paint work.

The white forks in the background are the Rebas I was going to use, hence the white lettering to help the colour transition. Well I scrapped that idea as I thought it would look like ****. Decided to remove the white out of the Specialized logos, spray the Rebas black and get some custom logos done for them... Was a good decision.

Oh, and the custom paint work turned out as well...

im almost done messing around with this thing but every time I look at it I want to do something else...

But so far im made it into a single speed
Made a half link and ditched the tensioner
Made a single speed chainring ( removed 3rd inner gear, ground down the teeth on outter),
    Disc brakes all around,
Customized my seat so its thinner and added a nice leather wrap,
    added flat top peddles,
    added a maximus headset,
    Added Kenda Kinetics 2.35".

Next thing I want to do is streamline it...Im going to remove the mounts from the "pincher" brakes, remove extra slots that would have held the gear cables, sand blast it and give it a fresh powder coat...THENNNN i might be done.....but new shocks and crank set are also in the plan eventually

*criticism is excepted* it will just make me do more

I apologize if my lingo isnt up to par...im still new
