I started with a 2012 Stumpy FSR COMP 29 Large, and now have an entirely different bike from replacing every single part. lol
    24lb, 2oz as shown.

Frame - Medium 2012 FSR SJ Expert Carbon
Wheelset - ZTR ArchEX on ZTR 3.30 hubs. Awesome wheels.
Tyres - Ground Control S-works 2.1 front and Fast Track S-works 2.0 in the back. (tubeless)
    Cassette - Sram X0
    Cranks - Sram X0
    Bakes - Sram X0
Shifter - Sram X0 twist shift
Rear derailleur - X0 short cage
    Exustar E-PM215 pedals
    Converted to 10x1 with a HomeBrewedComponents.com 36t front chainring.
    Easton Monkeylite XC CF Handlebar
WTB Pure-V Team edition saddle (Ti rails)
    Thompson Masterpiece seat-post
    Ibis 90mm neck
Lefty Max converted to 29 110mm travel, Project321 adapter.
Kettle Cycles Siccc SFL rotors 200/160

I took my time and found each part used or on super discount. Wheelset, tyres, and cassette each made big differences. Going 10x1 dropped another 10oz and I can't really say I've missed granny gear for what I ride.

I am missing my long fork travel, so will be replacing the Lefty with a Reba Revelation 140mm fork.

colmor, that's one amazing bike. I'm truly in love with the Lefty fork but yes,a bit odd to have 110mm only on a 29er Stumpy FSR. You should consider a Lefty SuperMax

So you've said it was a Comp and then you refer to it as an Expert. Did you change the Comp chainstay to accomodate the Brain or it's an actual Expert frame in first place ? It actually looks like a 2012 Expert to me.

Good eye, it is an Expert frame in the picture. One of the last remaining components I replaced from my Stumpy Comp was the frame itself! The 29 supermax looks promising, but I'll stick with normal forks for now.

Very nice! How's the shifting on the X0 cassette? I would love to upgrade to the X0 cassette and save almost a half pound in spin weight over the stock cassette.

Gave the evo a nice coating of dirt, although surprisingly dry given the crap weather lately.

The shifting is crisp, even after over a year on it. And yes it saves a load of weight over the stock SJ Comp cassette. Not just spin weight (it's relative small diameter), but if you're running FSR, it's the unsprung weight that was the main seller for me.

Me neither until I saw someone mention it once. Stock on mine was the Sram PG-1030 (bottom of the pile) cassette with a listed weight of 395g, and the PG-1080 (X0) is 245g. That stock one is a tank!

Or you can go to an XX Cassette at 185/208 grams. I keep hearing it makes a big difference but a little pricey.

It's a 2012 stumpy comp with a few upgrades I still need to shorten the brake cable. Here's a few cell pics from my first ride.
