26" Hardrock sport with v-brakes to this. Purchased this 2016 SJ fsr comp 650b an hour ago. It will be in the shop for a few days before it's fully ready. Decided to go 1x, tubeless, and new pedals. Excited? Yes! But nervous to say the least. I just hope I can get used to it rather quickly.

Going to put an order in for a 2017 Stumpjumper FSR Comp 6Fattie today I think. Weighed the Carbon vs Aluminum frame and I think Alum is what I'm going to do then use extra cash for a few goodies.

Looking at the Trek Farley too is tempting but 4.6" tires I would need to ride...

Yari, Carbon, & SWAT box is worth the extra $ in my mind but that is just me.

Ughghg, now I'm getting analysis paralysis. Mainly over my front fork.

Does anyone know about geometry differences between Enduro and Stumpjumper? I see the Enduro for $200 more comes with Yari..

I'm 200lbs, like the idea of more travel.

Well after much consideration I decided to move from the Stumpy to the Enduro!!!

And I got the Enduro Enduro Elite Carbon 29/6Fattie for 4k! I really wanted a fattie but also planned on a set of regular 2.3's so this works just in reverse order.

Suspension moved from midline to top tier and carbon frame! I totally satisfied!!!

Thought I would poke in and share here since not everyone follows the Enduro thread. Did some customs graphics on my 17' E29 Elite along with 30mm stem.

I put this together over the Winter.
I liked DH so much, but a new bike wasn't in the cards.
Bought someone's project, mixed it with some gear I had around, and added a few new parts. ( It was supposed to be a quick and dirty, but I ended up touching up the paint, refinishing the fork, and a whole bunch of other Bike Love)
Came out okay, and rides awesome!

Project bike to cure the DH bug after I ran some last year on my Trek EX8. I picked up someone else's basket case project, mixed it with some spares I had.

    2006 Specialized Big Hit
    2004 Boxxer fork
It was intended to be a throw together, but I couldn't do it, and ended up fogging a fresh coat of paint and clear, and on the fork, just wanted somethin' harsh, and went with that red.
The rest just came together to include SLX brakes, and drivetrain, old skool tires, and lots of Love.
I put some time into it, and it has been a blast!

I bought this 2015 Stumpjumper Elite M5 World Cup hardtail three weeks ago off craigslist, and am loving it. It's my first new bike since my 1993 Stumpjumper FS hardtail. It is really fun to ride.

It came with a mix of original and non-original parts, and overgeared with 32x11-34 1x9 gearing. I swapped out parts to make things more versatile and for fit.

    It came with:
    90 mm SID Brain fork
    Roval Control Carbon wheels (22IW)
Purgatory Control 2.3 (57mm) front, The Captain Control 2.2 (57mm also) rear tires, set up tubeless
    Magura Storm SL 180/160 rotors
    Shimano M8000 calipers/levers with metallic Ice-Tech pads
    Specialized Phenom Comp saddle
Specialized seatpost. I shortened it 100 mm to 300 mm.
Specialized flat top/mini rise style bars cut down to 680 by previous owner. Will swap out with some 720 flat bars soon.
ESI Extra Chunky Grips - too thick for me. Will install ESI Racer's Edge when I get new bars.

    New parts:
unbranded 85 mm stem (take off)
    Shimano XT/Ultegra chain,
    XT M8000 I-Spec II 11-sp shifter,
    XT M8000 rear derailleur
SRAM XX1 170mm, 156Q crankset with 32T Direct Mount X-Sync narrow-wide. I strongly favor 170s over 175s and narrow Q, so this was the most notable feeling fit upgrade. Was lucky to get a great deal on a new one on ebay.
Race Face Chester pedals. I'm not racing anymore, and for years, would ride/commute on my old bike with running shoes on no-platform M959 SPDs. Definitely have put in more miles riding non-cycling shoes than SPD shoes on those tiny pedals, so flat pedals make much more sense. Feel just as efficient on the flat pedals, and can even pull across the bottom and back in them with the same feel as SPDs.

Currently weighs 23.8 lbs. Not bad for the about $1600 total spent. It will probably lose another 0.3 lbs or so with the wider bar/grip swap because the current bars are quite heavy (306g). When I wear out the current tires, a lighter set of 2.25"-2.35" tires could bring down to around or below 23 lbs.

I am steadily upgrading. She sat in my garage for way too long and now I am actually riding. Next up is a Pike, new brakes and rotors, and longer bars. I run about 270, so I need beefed up components over stock
