    d-hanger bolt torque?

Anyone know the recommended torque to use on a hanger mounting bolt for a Rockhopper? I'm talking about the aluminum bolt holding the derailleur hanger to the frame.

5nm is apparently too high. Don't ask how know that....

5nm is correct. As it's an alloy/alloy interface, shouldn't be an issue. Did you cross-thread?

No, I didn't cross thread. Maybe I was a bit ham-fisted with the torque wrench. Who knows. I was on the phone w/a client at the time talking about a book project and wrenching on the bike. Maybe I was ham-fisted. Maybe I just had a spot of bad luck.

No big deal, I guess. I have spare bolts. I'll pay closer attention to what I'm doing next time.
