Cracked lower swingarm on 99 Enduro

Howdy... does anyone know if it is possible to fix / weld a crack on the lower section of the rear triangle near the bottom bracket pivot on the chain side? Basically its on the outside top of the cast part of the swingarm in the area between the tyre and the chain rings. Or, if not, where do I get a replacement piece?
    Thanks, Brian.

If so, known problem for that frame. Take to a dealer, you may be able to get it warrantied. My 99 FSR XC was replaced two years ago under warranty.

Ah!! Thats exactly the same place... and same type of crack. I'll see about finding a Specialized dealer and asking what can be done. Thanks!!

This crack is common. Had the same one myself. $100 dollars to get a new chainstay from a dealer (if they don't hook you up). Also, you will need to by new bearings. Pressing out the old ones will bind them and make them unusable. Buy the new bearing from an industrial supply company. The bearings will be better and only run about $8 a piece.

In proccess - but will be slow

So... I brought it to a Specialized dealer (am in south of France). They had a look and recognised that its a known problem.
They have to order the part from US ... so expected to be 4-6 weeks (!!).... and am not sure what will happen as I don't have the receipt anymore (moved country too many times).
A long time out of the saddle....
Either way, I'm hoping that there is a replacement piece available given its age and sure even if I have to pay, there isn't much choice... and the bike has been a good work-horse to date!!

    Specialized coming up trumps! :-)

Just got news that Specialized can replace the swingarm that is cracked under the frame warranty... ... it being a 1999 Enduro Pro, I was only hoping !
I just pay the shipping of the part which is only 30euro (me in France).

Now that, I have to say, is good service from Specialized.
