    Carve to Crave...

So are they changing the name from Carve to Crave?

It is because of trademark issues. Yes, "Crave" is lousy. I wish they had went for a different name.

Anyone know what the changes are for the 2014 "Crave" sl (single speed)? Besides the color...

    Carve to Crave...

Crave makes me think of nicotine patches for some reason.

Specialized 2014 Epic, Stumpjumper HT And Crave ? First Look - BikeRadar

"Specialized's mid-range aluminum 29er hardtails get a wholesale redesign, plus a new name Crave, as there was apparently some sort of trademark dispute with the old Carve moniker.

Compared to last year, the top-end Crave Pro's triple-butted alloy chassis sheds more than 200g for a claimed 19in frame weight of 1,585g, while gaining a more comfortable rear end. There's also 6mm to 9mm more standover depending on size, plus cleaner-looking dropouts, larger chain stays, and a broader top tube."

Looks like Specialized did actually change the frame?

This headtube/downtube/toptube junction looks different than my 2013.

The geometry for the single speed stays the same according to this page that just went up recently: Specialized Bicycle Components

IMO the color looks horrible, especially compared to the all black 2013.

Hey, somebody please verify on the Spec site. Did the 2014's lose the rear rack mounts ? Now how will I carry my six pack home from the package store ?
