    Carbon 29r Stumpy w/150mm Pike?

Anybody have an idea what height that Pike is? I'm guessing 150mm, but that would seem a bit too tall for a Stumpy. I know the Pikes come in 140 and 150. Anyone?

    Carbon 29r Stumpy w/150mm Pike?

The 2014 expert carbon Evo comes with a 140mm Pike.
But the comp 29 comes with a 130mm black Reveletion.

Just a side note, I see plenty of the new 1x11 without bash guards. Even the super expensive stumpy sporting these drivetrains dont have a bash guard. Any of you guys having issues hitting stumps, and boulders on your 1x11?

Roger that, I'm just trying to figure out what Levi was running at Dville. It sure looks like a 150mm Pike to me. If it is, I wonder what it did to the geometry of the bike. If it is a 140mm, than that would make sense. Supposedly there is a list somewhere of the components of his Dville race bike which is what is in the pic. I'm trying to find out if a 150mm fork is too tall for a stumpy comp 29r.

The Pike is a lot shorter than the Fox 34, and the 150 Pike should have about the same Axle to crown as the Fox 34 140, which was spec'd on the 2013 29er Evo.

I know on the 2014 Enduro 29 they switched from the Fox 34 150 to the Pike 160 and it didnt change the geo since they have the same A-C height.

As far as bash guards go, I put an MRP AMG on mine and removed the top guide. I basically wanted bash protection. A few days ago a guy I know rolled a log (no bash) and knocked a huge hole in his Expert Evo frame.

Straight from the horse's mouth (Levi):

Is there anything special about your bike setup?
Glenn Fant, who is not only one of my best friends, but owns a bike shop and has raced Downieville almost every year has been a personal mechanic for me at races like Tour of California, Switzerland, and the Tour de France. He pretty much chose every piece on my bike. My 2013 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR is all SRAM and RockShox. Iím riding XX1 with a 34 tooth chain ring. The wheels are the new SRAM Rise 60s. The front tire is a Specialized 2.3 Ground Control and the rear is a Specialized 2.2 Fast Trak. The fork is a RockShox 150/120 Dual Position Pike. The rear shock is a RockShox Monarch Plus. The dropper post is a RockShox Reverb Stealth. The saddle is a Specialized Phenom.
Thanks for the info too, Mr. Lynch. You were spot on.
