A local here in NC is selling a 2007 Specialized Epic Expert for ~$800. From the pictures, the bike looks like it's in pretty good condition. The Fox fork was recently rebuilt with 120 mm lockout kit, and the bearing and bolt kits were also recently replaced. The owner says this was regular maintenance, and not due to any crashes. The chain and cassette were also recently replaced and have ~50 miles on them.

Based on the Bicycle Blue Book value for a 2008 Epic Expert (oldest listed on the site) in good to excellent condition, the price appears spot on. However, I'm on the fence with buying a seven year-old bike for a great price, leaving $ for any tuneups and replacement parts, or saving $ and buying new. Considering the price difference between this used and a comparable new bike, I'm leaning towards used.

Any thoughts?
