Brain fade knob will not turn.

Need to see if I can get any help. I just bought a Epic Comp. Do not know the year for sure but it is probably a 2007. It has literally 35 miles on it, basically new. The problem is the brain fade know will not turn at all. Any body have any guidance.
    Thanks

I assume you have the EPIC shock with the integrated brain. There is no magic solution here. Just lube with WD40/CRC556 or similar and leave to soak. Should free it up. Otherwise you're going to have to dismantle.

I have a 2011 epic with brain fade and am told it is only serviceable at Specilized. Nobody in town that I know of will touch it. When they are locked tight in one direction or the other I know they get pretty tight. Did you try nudging it with a pliers?

It is the original style fox shock with the brain extending up from the top of it. I tried nudging it with pliers but it would not budge and I certainly don't want to break it. I took it for a short ride on the trails and where it is set felt pretty good so maybe I will leave well enough alone.

I wil try soaking it in WD-40 tonight and try a little more tomorrow. The guy I bought it from bought it new in 2007 and rode it twice, never even off road and it has sat inside his house since then. I don't think the brain fade knob has been touched since it left the bike shop that year.

If any body else has any ideas or guidance let me know

    Thanks.

I'd bet that the WD40 will work, just prolonged inactivity will have caused it to bind...
