... and if we just ... bradyh20's 2014 Specialized S-Works Troy Lee Enduro Build

Well, it's been two years since Vikingboy's thread inspired me to build an SX Trail. Since then I realized just how heavy I built that bike (coil springs, Hammerschmidt, allow components, etc...). The SX has proven to be bullet proof in the park, extremely plush, but sees a lot of hike-a-bike anytime the trail gets above 10% grade.

So now it's time for an Enduro. My objective going into this build was to build a no-compromises enduro rig. I recently switched from 26" wheels to 29" wheels (old Camber to new Stumpy 29er) and, being a bigger guy, feel more comfortable on the 29ers.

When I saw the troy lee special edition frame, I threw caution to the wind, and jumped. The result is as follows:

Frame: 2014 Specialized S-Works Troy Lee Enduro -- size L
Fork: 2014 Rock Shox Pike -- Single Air
Shock: Cane Creek Double Barrel Air
    Crank: XX1 32T

    Cassette: X01 10-42
    Rear Deral.: XX1
    Brakes: Shimano Saint (203/180)

    Wheels: ENVE AM 29"
Tires: Schwalbe Hans Dampf (F) and Nobby Nick (R)

    Bars: ENVE DH
    Post: Specialized CommandPost IR
    Stem: Renthal Duo

The build is still in progress - I'll keep you all updated as it goes.

Nice! Like how the color-fade includes the wheel decals.
And the black X01 cassette- all in the details. Almost too nice to get dirty- almost

Yeah, my LBS has one of the frames in stock, too. It's gorgeous. Not really my style, but beautiful nonetheless. You'd really hate to scratch it up.

The first scratches did indeed hurt. If you look real close you can see scratches in the rear triangle and on the right crank where I had to dump it in some rocks.

Man, that is sick, and I echo the sentiments about scratches. I'd honestly be afraid to ride it.

I actually rain into bradyh20 and his crew on the trail yesterday. The bike looks even better in person. Something like 28lb and has the latest Enve carbon wheels.

Wow! That is truly beautiful. I considered mine over the top stupid... but you have topped it for sure in terms of sexy. Like other, too pink for me, but still appreciate the effort, but the red grips must go

You must be tall with all the spacers and tall bars... I run flat ENVE's and I'm debating lowering them further.

    I'm 6'2"

The grips are actually fluorescent orange and match the orange in the frame perfectly.

Your black and white build is dead sexy too. Recommend you try out the new enve wheels. They really square out the tires. I love the resulting stability/confidence

You may want to raise your seatpost before lowering the front end, it looks super low. But it may just be the camera angle. Both whips are sweet looking!

Uh, I'd imagine the photo is with his dropper post in the down position.

Yep...if I'm off the bike the seat is down. KS LEV integra seatpost with new mechanism.

I figured that was the reason for the red grips, probably looks better from the front. The AM rims are in between the 60/40s and 70/30s on width.

    Awesome!

    I love mine.
Best bike I've ever owned. I've put some purple hope brakes on mine which work quite good with the paint.
Mine is fairly heavy but doesn't ride like it.

Wow. Just wow. I knew there was a new TLD Enduro, but I never did see it on Specialized's website (haven't checked in a couple of weeks). I didn't know it was already released. I love the paint job on it. bradyh20, brilliant build. Great components and I love your idea with the wheel decals. That worked perfectly with the paint job. Really sweet bike! I thought I went all out with my Enduro build, but yours definitely takes the cake. That TLD frame is very nice looking. I got the green and black frame for my build. Here it is all clean before the first ride. I've changed a few things along the way since this past fall season. (shameless plug of my build in your thread)

I completely understand getting the Enve wheels to widen the contact patch on the tires. Definitely confidence inspiring. I love my Industry 9 wheels but after destroying a couple of rims pretty easily, I went ahead and re-laced the hubs to some Chinese carbon 35mm wide rims. Much better now. Most of the time I don't feel worthy of this great machine, but I ride the piss out of it and love every minute on the trail. Here is what my bike currently (and usually) looks like:

Oh wow!! That green frame looks gorgeous!! I switched away from i9 wheels a year ago. Hoops were fine for me, but the hubs didn't feel efficient.

    Wow, your bike is gorgeous!!

I wasn't aware of the TLD frame either, but my LBS knew I was thinking big and called me up. In the end, there are some things the internet is good for, but you can never replace an awesome LBS that knows what one wants.

Thinking about a trip to Moab or santacruz next week. Any trail recommends? My gas tank runs empty around 2500 ft vertical...

I might need to add some color to my bike after seeing these. Although, I kinda think the Enduro 29er is really making a statement to the non-believers that this geo/travel really can be a blast to ride too. That was part of why I kept it just black and white

bradyh20's 2014 Specialized S-Works Troy Lee Enduro Build

I only added color because I'm that guy that does like the flashy, loud colors (yeah, I admit it) and secondly, I was saving up money to do the 'dream' build. This is my first 29er and the only geometry where I feel that the 29er wheel size would suit me. I figured if I was finally going to change, I might as well go all out. Either a big failure or big win. So far, big win.
