BB for FC-M540 Custom Shimano Hollowtech, Octalink XT Spline (X-Ref to Drivetrain..)

I need to replace the Bottom Bracket on my 2005 Specialized SJ 120.

The crank is stamped as a FC-M540; however, is listed as Custom Shimano Hollowtech, Octalink XT Spline. From the following thread http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.ph...hlight=FC-M540 it looks like I need to use a XT-level BB.

My current (stock) BB is a Simano ES-30 Octalink spline, 68 mm shell, 118 mm spindle. 50 mm chainline.

    What are my options?

I'm thinking of buying the following Shimano BB-ES71 (XT):
    http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/164...acket-2007.htm
    or
    http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...m+Bracket.aspx

Are they the same (I presume so) and would that work?

Anything else that I need to consider? I've never done a BB job before, but I think that I have all the right tools (crank puller, BB cartridge tool, calipers) to do so. Do I need special grease or can I just use anti-seize?

    Thanks in advance!

You might be able to get the direct replacement from Specialized?? A new Shimano BB will come with this white anti-seize alreay on it. I always put some grease too but not sure if that's a good idea or not.
