Back to riding w/ a new bike on the way

Hey guys been a while since I've been on here, hope all the regulars are doing well!

Ive taken about a 3 year break from biking to pursue some cave diving expeditions and now im coming back! I sold my 07 FSRXC and just ordered a red and black Stumpjumper FSR Comp 29.

Are there anythings i need to look for while there building it up or anything worth replacing right out of the gate?? Right now im just planning on throwing some eggbeaters on it and rolling with it.

Also, whats the learning curve like going from a 26 to 29?

    Good Plan.

Put pedals on it, get a good fit, then replace parts as they wear out.

You will want to replace the brake pad with serfas organic pad from jensonusa and alligator serragation disc on the brake immediately. No matter what the bike shop tells you, as long as you downhill, it will sqeak like crazy. If they said they dont know what you are talking about, ask them to look at the specialized forum om mtbr where this topic has been widely covered.
