I'm not getting just the frame; ordered the whole bike Nov 5th. Last week they said they still expected it by the end of the month but I'm starting to wonder....

Hope they hurry because the weather's starting to turn.

    When did you order yours?

I ordered mine back in September. LBS has been saying end of the month but nothing more. I know what you mean about the weather........very wet here in Virginia.

Hope that is the case. Then again, once the snow comes it won't much matter.

Sweet. I love the raw carbon/red. I built mine up yesterday. I'll post pics later. Mine is a large and weighs in at 21.4 without the chain.

Man it's pretty, almost afraid to touch it. I have the S Works carbon crankset I have to install so I'm rigging up a bearing press. Going to outfit it with SRAM, X0, Mavic Crossmax SLR, 08, NOS, Magura Marta SL, and Specialized E100 fork. The fork was a last minute change as I already bought a DT Swiss XMC 100, but the Specialized fork came along and I had to snap it up. I tell you the DT Swiss fork is absolutely beautiful and seems to be a good rider but I have to let it go. I'll also post up some pics. Probably post a few different interval photos as this will take me a few weeks to get together so I can show my progress.

Are the '10 frames not coming with the Specialized fork (ie. frame set)? '09's came as a set with the fork...

No, you have to buy the fork separate.

Did anyone check the frame weight for the 2010 SWorks?

I didn't check the frame weight because my LBS had already put the head tube adaptor (my fork doesn't have a tapered steerer) and bottom bracket adaptor (no BB30 cranks either) so the weight would have been off. I can tell you it felt much lighter than my '08 S-works Epic even with those extras. The biggest thing I noticed was how balanced the frame felt compared to my '08 which is really weighted in the back end.

Here's crapy cell phone pic. IMO, the carbon/red is one of the best looking bikes around. My buddy bought the team red and it is not nearly is nice looking. Oh, and I think the raw carbon is a bit lighter as well.

The e100 fork that I got with my S-Works came in dark grey -- so much nicer looking than the red!! :-)

Never like to post how much I pay for things. Puts dealers in a bad position. Just my opinion and I don't want to high jack the thread or start a flame war.

I hear you on the price posting. I got it off the auction site so I suspect with the good price comes some risk vs. buying from a dealer. It was a tough decision to save a fist full of dollars and not have a reputable dealer to take it back to if something fails. I guess that is my disclaimer, personally on high end items it is almost always better to with a dealer to have that solid protection.

The weight of a large painted frame was 5.13 lbs. The raw carbon should be about 1/4 lbs. less.

nice looking ride. for the folks that haven't received there bikes yet, get ahold of the spesh dealer rep for your LBS. Sometimes (like my case) the dealer says it ordered but it hasn't been ordered yet because the LBS is waiting to put your ordered bike on a team deal. The dealer gets better pricing. I found that my dealer did that and i would have never received the new 2010 29er hard tail s works if i didn't talk to their spesh rep. I would hate to have the same thing that happened to me happen to you.

    good luck

I'll tell you how I got my frame. My LBS is fairly small and so they weren't going to get their stuff until after some of the mega sized dealers in my area. My shop called a mega shop and they agreed to divert part of their order and send it to my shop to fill the order. When my LBS's order gets released, it will be sent to the mega store. A swap if you will. I hope that made sense.....Perhaps you can do the same if you wnat your frame/bike now.

Could you please clarify what is included on that weight?
Is it really just the frame, or did you include BB bearings, cable holders, seattube clamp, headset, seattube, front shifter, stay protector?
I think it is too heavy for just frame and shock (with brain of course).
Mine, 2009, has similar weight if I include all I describe except seattube and headseat.

The shop weighed it so I can say for sure what was included. I am sure it was not "bare". Keep in mind painted frames weigh about 1/4 of a pound more than your raw '09.

Heads up! There are 2 E100 forks on ebay right now. Look to be slightly used and the starting price is 499. Could be worth a watch if you are interested in that fork for your bike.
