Anyone compare 2014 Epic against 2013 models?
I really wanted 2014 Epic Expert but in order to save money I bought a used like new condition 2013 Expert and upgraded the hell out of it. I saved about $2500 doing so.
Does anyone own a '13 Epic and upgraded to '14? Since it's all new, I wonder how much it improved.
'14 Epic frames look so sharp! I am jealous!
Roval Control Carbon wheels come stock on the 2014 Expert, which is a huge upgrade.
The frame is ~100g lighter, has provisions for 2 water bottles and SWAT (A new storage system for tools, tubes, patches, etc) and has slightly shorter chainstays.
The new version of the Brain transitions from locked out to open quicker and more seamlessly than previous iterations.
That being said... the 2013 model is still a fine bike. With the amount you saved you could easily upgrade to a set of carbon wheels and have money left over (If you haven't already!).
Here's my upgrade list of 2013 Epic Expert(Bought in like new condition):

Grand total came out to $4500. New 2014 Epic Expert +tax would be almost $7000. So I saved about $2500. I think I did ok
