    99 Stumpjumper Pro Upgrades

    Hi all,

I've been riding my 99 Sumpjumper Pro for a while and I've saved some money for upgrades. I have already upgraded the seat a while back because the orginal seat was just too hard. Now, I'm thinking of upgrading the pedals to Egg Beater SL and the tires are about worn out so I'm going to upgrade them to Panaracer Fire XC's.

What are some other components that I should look into? Which of stock components do you find weak? What do you feel is the best bang for the buck upgrade on this bike?

    Thanks a lot,

    stan's no tubes

is the cheapest performance upgrade. Look for a lighter set of tires than the xc pro's, they are quite heavy if I remember. Is the bike a FSR or a HT? My 99 Stumpy FSR XC Pro is on it's third fork(05Fox Vanilla R), it's third shock(a PUSH rebuilt 03 Float R) as well as upgraded to Avid mechanical's with a sweet s works disc wheelset.

If it's an FSR and you have the stock link, look into either the MRP x-link, or the BETD link. Get the needle bearing dropout replacement kit also. It'll make the back end silky smooth.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry that I forgot to mention my Stumpjumper is the hardtail.
