picked up a new 2014 fsr comp evo with 26" wheels, size medium. Before it left the shop i swapped out the dropperpost for a standard seatpost , the ride height settings on the dropperpost were way too high. Also changed out all of the red parts for some black parts and upgraded the shifter to a X9. The pedals are Straightline Amps. Next week I'll be getting a narrow- wide chainring to go 1x10 and a handlebar with a slight more rise to it. My initial riding impressions from my 1st ride on it is that the bike is super quiet on the trails, there is no mechanical noise whatsoever and the brakes are probably not broken in yet so hopefully the stopping power we will improve. Should be a pretty fun bike once I get all the parts dialed in.

I have the same bike and have the same issue with the dropper post. The middle height is fine for climbing for me but the top setting is too high and the lowest is a little lower then I like. I cant understand why they dont just make one where I can decide what height its at, like the office chair technology that has been around for 20yrs or more.
other than that bike is great, the breaks have gotten better but my friends bike which is a 2013 evo with the shimano breaks has much better stopping power.
well the bike has developed a rear brake problem, it makes an extremely loud sound that vibrates through bike whenever you get on the rear brakes. the brakes have been cleaned and the sounds still exists, I have since I dropped the bike off at a dealer to have it looked at and got it back today ; they found no problem just a loose rear hub , I took it straight to the trails in my area and rode it and the brake problem/sound is still just as bad, its going back to the shop Monday morning. My riding buddies have forbidden me to bring that bike back to the trails unless that obnoxious brake sound is fixed.
Remove the little plastic clamp that holds the brake line to the inside of the seat stay, that should fix your problem.
