2014 SJ FSR Comp EVO 26 vs 29

Size Large in either. Steep climbs and steep singletrack down.

Anyone have a chance to ride both and compare? Is the 29er hard to manual/hop given it has 450mm chainstays? Or do they have the geo dialed to where it's poppy and fun like the Ibis Ripley? Part of me wants the 26 for the 420mm chainstays and the fun factor, but part of me wants the 29 for the burly monster abilities.

I know Specialized is moving to 650b for 2015, so pulling the trigger on the 26 knowing it will be obsolete, makes the decision even more difficult.

no link. From what people are seeing out on the trails and what Specialized supply chain is hinting at.

For me I would get the 26, but I traded my 29er and have 2 26ers now and I love them and can do anything on them. I had '12 29er stumpy carbon expert fsr and traded it for a '12 Evo expert Enduro 26 to accompany my carbon '13 enduro expert. I see no personal reason to go any other wheel size any more, just longer travel and slacker geo. It is just getting rediculous out there lol . Now I just need to get a 26er DH rig before they make 29er and 36er DH bikes .
Tie two birds together and though they have four wings, they cannot fly!
