I have the same bike. The question is, keep the Magura MTS brakes or upgrade? Thoughts?

What size frame? I'm assuming that weight is without water bottles....
My large S-works is 21.6 lbs, with Magura MT-8, and tubeless setup. The MT-8s are very good brakes, even compared to the XTRs that I was used to. I don't know about the MTS, but I would think they also work well, but are just a little heavier than MT-8.

Stem is 130. Frame is large. I am 6'2" but I have long arms. Weight is with out bottles.
The brakes are a bit heavy but they stop.

Had mt8's on my '13 sworks and wasn't a big fan, that's why I'm considering the switch.

I am 6'2" also, have an XL on order... Rode the L and it felt smallish... Seat all the way back...34-35" inseam... Why not an XL with 90 mm stem?, did you test ride an XL?

I have a 32" inseam. I've always felt like I was between sizes on the epic. This is my 5th or 6th epic and I have always rode a large. The local rep often tells me he thinks I should be on a XL...

wow, that is really light. YOu must've gotten a light one! I have the same bike in a medium with carbon post, bar, ESI grips, XX brakes, carbon zee cages, ti hardware, carbon railed Romin saddle, Woodman SLti seatpost clamp, alloy H2O bolts and tubeless....still weigh in @ 23lbs. 1oz. I do have XTR pedals which are quite a bit heavier than the Eggbeaters and could run Renegades but where I live they are pretty much worthless until mid summer. Sweet setup!

FWIW, I weighed a L Expert WC at the store. It came in at 24.4# with cassette spoke protector and reflectors. I can't remember if it had demo pedals or not.

I am picking mine up tomorrow. I had a set of XTR brakes from my old bike so I am having the shop put those on before I pick it up. I will post a stock weight when I get home with it.

My large Epic Expert WC is 24.4 lbs. Stock with the exception of XTR brakes and XT pedals. Hope to make a few changes and get it into the 22-23 lb range.

Just picked up my medium Epic Expert WC yesterday.
The 22.38 is the bare naked weight.
    No cages, pedals or computer.
Changed the stock grips to foam, went tubeless, put a S-Works Renegade on the back and cut 1.5 inches off both ends of the handle bars.
The stock seat and post combo weighed in at 588 grams.
I have a Sella Italia SLR Team Edition that weighs 178 grams and a Ritchey Carbon WCS post coming that weighs in the 185 gram area that I will be putting on.
Can't wait for all this damn snow to go and ride it!
And the color looks much better than any pics have shown.

After converting to tubeless, swapping stem (Thomson 100 x 10 degree), handlebar (Easton EC70 wide), seat post (Easton EC90 zero offset), grips (ESI Chunky), seat (Romin Expert Evo 155 mm), the weight of my size large Expert WC with two S-Works rib cages and XTR 970 pedals is exactly 23 lbs on bathroom scale and two other fishhook scales at two different bike shops. Sorry about the pic, my cell phone is from the dark ages.

Went to my shop today...the stock info got worse from Specialized. He logged into the Specialized dealer site and it states "Late April" for West coast stock of this bike in black/red Size Large.....but "Early June" for East coast!!! Ughhhghgh

He stated that Specialized has been having "production problems" lately......

Yeah, I would be too! Killer bike, killer weight.
Is it normal for there to be so much variance in weights for the same model?
Seems like these are anywhere from 22.x to 24.x lbs.
