    2014 Epic Expert going 1x11?

My question is, can I use the S2200 cranks that come on the bike and make it a single and how? I already have the cassette, derailler, shifter, and chain.

wont you have to change the hub? I cant tell if you want to use the stock chainring....i dont think it would work without the longer teeth

you dont need to change the hub you need a new free hub body. you can find the for 100 bucks depending on what hub you have for your bike. as for your cranks all you need to do is put a narrow wide ring on. the sram s2200 cranks are the same exact cranks as the XOs just with a different name. look at the raceface or wolftooth narrow wide rings

    2014 Epic Expert going 1x11?

You can replace the SRAM S-2200 double ring crank spider with a single ring crank spider (it comes off easily, only held on by some bolts) and then fit a SRAM narrow wide chainring onto the new spider for a reasonable chainline with a single ring:

    Crank Spider:
    SRAM TRUVATIV Spider LK 76 Sram XX1 für BB30 Kurbel 38g, 57,50 €

    Chainrings
Bolt Circle Diameter 76 mm: CARBON TI Chainring X-Monosync Ti 1-Speed

For the rear wheel you'll need to swap the freehub body to install a SRAM 11 speed XX1 cassette. The 2014 Epic Expert rear hub uses DT Swiss internals so you could fit a DT Swiss freehub body. Because the rear hub on the 2014 Epic Expert uses 142+ x12mm spacing, rather than 142x12mm spacing, the stock DT end cap that comes with the new freehub body will be wrong however. You can use the existing end cap that is currently on your bike's rear hub with the new freehub body but it will need some minor modification.

See this thread for details of what exactly is required:

Thank you all this helps out tons! Glad I don't need to by a new crank. I have a XX1 crank but it is GXP and will stay on old epic that will be sold.
