Nice bike and I want it! I have a 2011 STJ FSR 29 Comp (love the bike, but alittle more AM would be good) and when I replaced it, the 29 EVO is the bike.

    Thanks for the photos

    Thanks!

Yep thats deer in the background! They where just chilling in the sun and didnt even move while I was so close...

Tested it yesterday on a XC ride. Isn't the best parcours for "her" but with the front and rear suspension on the climb setting it was a nice! No pedalbop at all but the suspension gave me some backup while needed. Cant wait to take it for a AM ride

Standing height is very comfortable! Bar is 720 width so gave me good control while steering.
Need to get used to the 29 wheels. Started steering a little late some times. Brakes did their job

I was told the prices are unchanged from 2012. I preordered an Expert Evo and it didnt cost me any different than the 2012 model I almost bought last year.

Well the Expert Evo (29er) comes with a carbon front tri and a fox 34, which are both new this year right? If it is the same price as last years alu version, then I'm sold! I doubt it though . . . .

The 26" expert carbon is the same price as last year. The 29" should be a tad more. Probably $6100 retail.

love the color scheme. Thinking if the Comp Evo is worth it over the Comp.

I was told msrp on the expert evo is $6200. Makes sense as the carbon 26" was close to $6k last year. Btw, the frameset is $2900.

Hi, awesome looking bike. I have one question. Is the colour on your front fork same as on the frame? I mean the frame looks like lime colour and the suspetion looks like yellow. THX for answer and enjoy your ride!

On my 26, the fork is yellow, the frame is sort of a mellow fluorescent green/yellow. The fork/frame don't match but its close enough it doesn't really bother me. I guess this "custom for specialized" fork doesn't mean it is simply color-matched, or, it's just a fail. No big deal though really. In person, it's not too noticeable.

any comment on the command post or the wheels?
got mine today... the seat moves left to right about 10mm each way and the front wheel creaks alarmingly when doing endo.. on closer exam the spokes one side of the wheel seem noticably tighter than the other
also... is it just me or is the bottle cage bracket impossibly positioned
the rear axle also has a 'score mark' through 360 degrees on the cassette side and there seems to be no lock out on that axle spindle which doesnt sit well with me
other than that for sure it will ride well.. i just object to spending the money that these cost and not getting the finished article right out of the box!

Working at a Specialized shop, I'd say take the command post back. It shouldn't move that much. The wheel business also sounds sketchy.
The water bottle cage is supposed to be one of their Zee cage, or other side release cage.

    Hi

I want to replace my 2010 Pro carbon size L to this bike in XL

    3 questions:
    - what's the real difference between EVO and non EVO?
    - what about torsion of the bike, I am 6 ft tall and 220 lb, smaller bike was sweet but (I am out of table) sometimes exhausting, bigger wheels and bigger frame could change the joy of descent because of too much flexion?
    - where did can I buy it, I live in chile and from here has been very difficult to find dealers On Line in the US, specially now that Specialized took over the local dealer and for a while, I don't see new bikes coming...my idea is to ship from San Francisco to here
    Y
Also, if the store can sell the bike with changes like Hope Hoops / ZTR wheels and shimano brakes, would be great!

    Any help, appreciated!

EVO has the forks kicked out a little farther. I have been beating on mine for 6 months, ride every day, started out at 300lbs, I am now at 220. these are great bikes.

    Nice bike!

Looking at this model myself. Can you post the bike's weight?

BTW: is it true that Specialized will not sell any 26" Stumpies in XL in 2013?

Yes no more XL for the 2013 26er stumpys. I tried to purchase a 2013 stumpy fsr 26er comp and the dealer said they stopped making the XL for the 26er. He tried to talk me into a 29er but I had them order me a 2012 26er fsr comp. I got about 1000 bucks off MSRP, plus there is not much difference between the 2012 & 2013 models.

EVO has no rear BRAIN, how is that, does it payoff?

Yes there will be XL and even XXL for the 29er. I know the comps go all the way up to XXL. Just the 26er stumpy they phased out the XL for 2013.

So stumpy fans like US? And my concern about XL+29 too flexible does not really maters now... I should go for my SJ expert XL in 29... And maybe change wheels again
