2013 Stumpjumper Carbon HT QR or 9+10mm thru axles?

My wife weighs 110 and we just bought a 2013 Stumpjumper HT in small for her. We swaped mostly all parts and just got the NoTubes Race Gold's in the mail. They come with stock 5mm QR for front and back. Is it worth wild to swap the endcaps to 9mm Thru Axle and 10x135 in rear and get some DT Swiss RWS axles with the added weight of the axles? Will there be a significant difference in stiffness or is it not worth wild and just use the Stans QR front and rear that came with the Race Gold's?

    Thanks...

2013 Stumpjumper Carbon HT QR or 9+10mm thru axles?

With a hardtail I'd probably change the front end caps to use a 9mm DT RWS Thru Bolt (thru bolt is where the skewer threads into a nut, thru axle is where the skewer threads directly into the fork or frame dropout). It stiffens the front end a bit. Even if your wife is quite light it should be worthwhile doing.

The 10mm DT RWS rear thru bolt on a hardtail frame is unlikely to make much difference. I couldn't notice the difference between 10mm DT RWS rear thru bolt and a normal 5mm rear skewer on a full suspension 2009 Specialized Epic. On a hardtail it's going to be very marginal as to whether it's worth the expense. Having matching front and rear skewers is about the best reason that I can think of.

Personally, I would also swap the front out to the RWS. I am not sure how noticeable the stiffness increase will be at her weight, but the one place she could notice is with the forks. The rear wheel, not sure.
