    2013 Specialized Decal removal ???

I have the 2013 carbon Stumpy EVO and whilst I love the bike I'm already finding the bright neon orange stripe and seat-tube triangle annoying/over-bearing.

All other decals appear to be under the top coat, but the orange strip appears to be above, either a sticker (with no visible seem at triangle!?), or paint?

Does anyone have any more understanding of what this is and how best to remove it if I decide to go this route??

    Thanks

That red/orange section is a paint mask. You could try to sand down but would not reccomend - voids warranty and you could be sanding down to bare carbon.

Just use flat black vinyl. When I got tired of the green on my 2011 SJ it is what I did and it looked great. When I built my 2013 stumpy I went with the all black frame because I figured the orange would get to me.

Looks sexy to me. I would leave it as is, OG.

Yeah, that bike looks so freakin good. I vote that you leave her alone unmolested as well.

Beautiful bike, I wouldn't touch it.

I dont care for the high lighter orange and highlighter blue either. May be one of them alone is Okay.

Just about as terrible as checker pattern. A few yrs from now, this neon trend will fade as well

you will have zero resale value of you paint over it if you just hate the neon do like others have suggested and get some black vinyl and tape over it.

we have a guy on our local road rides that had a S Works venge with the awful paint job of last years SRAM Red edition he took the frame to be repainted with his teams color scheme and was able to have the stock logos/decals replicated as to have the frame look custom yet stock this might be an option also.

I would never buy a bike I was annoyed by it's factory paint job....especially not after plunking down $5500 USD on it! Don't let aesthetics eat you up from the inside...

Yeah, cuz this neon trend has not been around on bikes and motorcycles since the 80's.

That's probably the only color scheme that I like. Leave it, please!

^^^^This, stuff works great. If you don't like it peel it off and your only out $6-10 bucks. Youtube has some vids that shows how it works. Check it out.

As long as the Eastern European market exists, gaudy neon styling will forever remain.
