    2013 Safire Evo conversion?

Just wondering if anyone had done an evo or similar conversion on a Safire?
My wife is looking at getting the 2013 model on closeout in either spec at 50%off, she rode both at a demo day and really enjoyed both but also rode the stumpy 26er and liked the 140mm travel front and back.
The safire comp model runs a 120mm fork and 120mm shock
The expert model has an adjustable 140/120 fork and 120 shock. My idea was to see if I could transfer the 140mm triad shock from my '11 stumpy comp to her new bike assuming they both use the same proprietary link and clevis.

Has anyone done anything similar? Any idea if there will be a safire evo in 2014?

Specialized just came out with their women's 2014 Rumor 29er. My guess is they won't make a Safire for 2014 since they are going to 29er only. Check with bike shop to be sure.

The 2014 catalog shows a safire. It is still around for now. There is no Evo model though.

Swapping the shock from a stumpy wont automatically give you 140mm of travel. It depends on the shock stroke. The Safire shock is 6.5x1.46 and the SJ shock is roughly 7.5x2. The SJ shock will raise the BB height quite a bit (if it even fits) and the extra 1/2" stroke may cause the rear to contact the seat tube. It's a bad idea.

Why not just get a 2013 26" Stumpjumper? Change the stem to get the right fit!

    2013 Safire Evo conversion?

The lowdown from my local spec dealer is that Australia won't be getting the Safire in 2014 only the rumor. It's a difficult decision. She wants it for a post baby bonus and help get back into riding/fitness also. If the rumor is the only option next year, I think she would rather get a Safire now at a reduced price vs full retail on the rumor next year.
The only Safire models available in medium are comps as The expert has sold out. There are both '12 and '13 models though.
