2008 Epic AFR Shock Broken Again....

This is the second one I've had on this bike. The shock works but the brain fade feature does not. Any clue if its still covered under warranty? Or How much it would cost to have repaired??

The bike in question had the rear shock replaced March of 09 and then was stolen that November. The Epic was recovered in mid July and has since then developed the problem.

    AFR problems

I had close to a dozen AFR replacements in 8 months of owning a 2007 epic. You should be covered for 5 years assuming you are the original owner. My personal experience and seeing hundreds of threads like this on MTBR as well as Specials return to using Fox to produce the epic shock makes me believe Special was never able to solve the problems with the AFR shocks. I would try to get them to send you a fox model. If you stick with the AFR you can plan on it needed repair often. I don't think I ever made it a whole month. Get a Fox.
