    2007 Hardrock

    Watching this bike for a buddy in an auction and was wondering what you guys think.No bids and wants $300 plus shipping if purchased straight out.

    A1 Premium Aluminum frame, disc only, double butted TT, ORE DT, externally relieved head tube, reinforced disc mount, forged dropouts
    RST Gilla Plus T7 fork, 100mm, Cro-Mo steerer, 30mm stanchions, coil MCU w/ preload adjust
    Specialized 3D forged alloy stem, two bolt, 25.4mm, 10 degree rise
    Shimano 415 brakes, mechanical disc, 6" Center Lock rotors
    Shimano HB-M65L hubs, Center Lock disc, 36h, QR
    2011 Rockhopper Comp 29er
    2011 Myka HT Disc (wife)

    I have the same year bike in my stable. Good overall bike for an intro/beginner/casual rider. Frame is solid. Forks are terrible. Most of the time the forks wont budge in their travel, especially when its cold out. Also, the bike is super heavy, something around 35lbs+. But overall the bike did me well. It was my first bike. If your buddy is just starting out, you can't beat a hardrock.

    I love mine. it is 3 years newer but probably close to the same. I have suntour front fork. I don't know if it is crap or not. this is also my first mountain bike. but I like very much. gets me throught the course very well.
