1x S works Wolf Tooth Components chainring

I know there are a lot of Sworks bikes out there running 1x. If you have the Lightning/Sworks carbon crankset, now you have a direct mount ring option with wide/ narrow teeth for 1x!

Can you tell us how wide the spline is that interfaces with the cranks? Thanks

    Hey Jnr,
The spline is the same width as the stock 2x spline (we got a sample crankset from the Big-S).

Thanks for the feedback. Had a major issue with another brands spiderless ring. Spline interface was too thin, so this is good news!

This is GREAT news!!! It's much cheaper than the OEM XX1 spider/ring combo and probably lighter too

    I'd like to request a 38t

Does this fit the S2200 crank as well from SRAM?

    Hey Judd,
No but our SRAM direct mount rings do. However, Big-S uses BB30 and right now we only have them for GXP (different dish on the rings). We will have BB30 rings in about 3 weeks.

Here is an example of the GXP direct mount rings (BB30 will look the same): Direct Mount for SRAM GXP Cranks | wolftoothcomponents.com

    Cheers!

This is probably so simple that my brain is paralyzed with analysis: I can get this 1x S Works ring and tighten it on an S Works crankarm and be done. Nothing else needed for the crankarm & ring combo, right?!

Just need to get the lockring off, but no extra parts needed… Your specialized LBS might have the tool, might not--I used a red park tools spanner clamped in a bench vise to get the ring off and retighten it.

Just back from first ride, it worked perfectly and no drops at all…hooray for Wolf Tooth!

Yes, that is how it works! Just take the spider off and put our ring in its place.

My LBS ordered me a direct mount ring, 34T, for my S-Works crank. Hoping it arrives real soon so we can finish my new build. I'm glad there are options for the NW ring and I like the WT products from what I've seen on the inter-webs.

Edit: My ring came in today. It looks great.

    They already make a 30t.

(Consider riding more if you need anything less than a 30... I keeed I keeed!)

    Hey CHSAD,
If volume picks up we will be making more sizes, 30t and 36 specifically. We are going to see how these first months go before committing to more sizes.

Does WT make or plan to make a SRAM GXP direct mount 38t chainring? If not, my only option will be to buy a NSB XX1 spider and use it to mount SRAMs 38t chainring.

    Hey Joropeza,
We don't plan a GXP 38t. For an optimized chainline around 50mm the 38t interferes with many frames. This is why we haven't made this ring. That said, we will have a solution for you (DM 2x spider plus 38t x 104BCD ring mounted in the larger ring position) in the next few weeks.

I just bought two of these in 32t, one for the 2014 S-Works Enduro and one for the Carbon Comp HT. HT is mounted and has been ridden. I had S-Works spider with XX1 chainring prior to this. It works exactly the same, just as good and it is bout 30 grams lighter. I could not tell if either was stiffer or flexing more than the other, for those who are concerned about that.
