15.5" Stumpy HT frame tapered head tube/fork question

My 15.5" Stumpy HT came with a tapered head tube, but the Fox fork has a straight steerer supposedly due to the fact that the head tube is too short for a tapered. Anyone know if I can actually run a tapered steerer fork on my frame such as a SID?
